Castles are the most beautiful and most impressive historic buildings in the world. These buildings served as inspiration for many fairy tales, stories and legends, and when you look closely, it’s no wonder that for centuries they have engulfed the imagination and were such a source of inspiration.
1. Neuschwanstein, Germany
At the top of the rock 5 km east of Fussen, stands one of the most fabled castles in the world-Neuschwanstein. Although the order of King Ludwig II, who built the castle, was to demolish it after his death, his wish was not fulfilled.
The world still has this incredible building, which was Walt Disney’s inspiration for Cinderella’s castle. Neuschwanstein is proof that dreams do come true, and this castle was once only a dream of the little prince Ludwig. According to his grandfather Ludwig I, the little prince was only six years old when he created “surprisingly good buildings” while playing with pieces of wood. While growing up he learned a lot from his father, King Maximilian II of the Romantics, who did not call builders, but theater artists during the restoration of old residences.
